What I have in mind
This space is part journal, part blog, and part ongoing conversation on topics I care about. I tend to write out my thoughts when I want more clarity. Here is where I’ll do some of that thinking in public.
I’d like nothing more than for these posts to create room for conversation with friends and colleagues as well as with people I have yet to meet.
I tend to follow my curiosity. Sometimes that leads me to thinking about leadership and self-direction; sometimes about faith and how it takes shape in everyday life; and sometimes about creativity, where I believe we uniquely reflect both the image of God and something essential about what it means to be human. But don't expect things to always be serious. Whether we mean it or not, we humans are funny creatures!
You’ll notice a page about coaching, something that has become an important part of my own growth. It has been a natural outgrowth of many years spent in ministry and countless conversations with people who were navigating the challenges that come in seasons of change and transition. I’m deeply interested in how people grow through reflection, curiosity, meaningful conversation, and how they find greater clarity about what matters most.
This website will stay somewhat "under construction" -- just like me. Still coming up with ideas and interesting things to explore. My focus will often be more about what I notice than what I know since I think true knowledge tends to grow slowly through reflection and conversation. I hope you'll feel free to step in to the conversation.
